A Sneak Peek into Classrooms
Technology- Ms. Ferguson: In Honors the students are being introduced to Google Docs and creating a to go menu for a restaurant that they created!
In Varsity the students are applying their Google Slides skills to create a presentation about their favorite activity!
Language Arts- Ms. Christensen: This week in Language Arts Honors continued work on diagramming a sentence for subject and predicate and Scholastic began learning to diagram a sentence for subject and predicate. Varsity is working on different types of verbs (auxiliary, linking, and helping). All groups worked on creating a plot map for a chapter we read this week in L.A.
In Humanities we reviewed all areas of our music unit and took the final.
Physical Education: With the new school year underway, students are having a blast in PE playing Rookie Rugby, Lacrosse and Soccer! Please be on the lookout in "Aeries" for "Grade Updates" each week as Coach Penirian, Coach Easterday and Coach Williams' classes just took their first test this past Friday, September 14th.
Also, as a friendly reminder, please remind students that they should be applying
"Deodorants/Antiperspirants/Baby Powder or Sanitary Wipes" in the morning before they are coming to school and showering daily; as their bodies have already begun puberty even though there may be no signs of it showing physically!
Thank You!!!

Geography- Ms. T & Mrs. Zuniga: Students had many questions about the White House, so all classes decided to further our curiosity by watching a tour of the White House, led by First Lady, Mrs. Kennedy from the 1960’s. We then explored what the White House looked like in modern times and compared the decades of transformation. This led us into a discussion about the 50 states and where they are located. We both are so excited with where our classes have taken us and we decided that exploring all of the 50 states/capitals together will vastly expand our knowledge.
Social Studies- Ms. Sabedra: This week in 5/6 social studies students have been working on creating notebook covers about what we've learned so far this year. I'm seeing so many students show amazing creativity and impressive art skills. They're looking great and I can't wait to see the finished products!
